    Frequently Asked Questions

Grown-Up Swimming? What the heck is that?

A goofy league for folks 18 and over who want to have a laid-back atmosphere to race and be social.

    Cookouts? Are there really cookouts?

Yep, most of the host pools will run a grill and concession stand for all of your caloric needs!

Does the Excel team practice regularly?

We are trying to self-organize a few practices during the season and will coordinate via email.  No regular day/time has been chosen, but we did successfully gather at 10am on Sat Jul 6th at the Brentwood Indoor Sports Complex (ISC) to knock the rust off.  Subject to pool availability, we will try to gather a couple more times in July.

By when do I have to register for each meet?

End-of-Day Monday before each Thursday meet is the cutoff to register for that week's meet.

How many events can I swim, and what about relays?

Your captain(s) will follow-up on Tues/Wed as the relay teams are put-together.   Click on "Meet Signup" and select the meet and which races you would like to swim, along with your availability to swim relays (note relays are 50 yards each leg, whereas most individual races are 25 yards only).

You can swim up to 4 individual races and up to 2 relays, but you are capped at 5 events in total, so if you joined 2 relays, you'd swim 3 individual events.

Are there warm-ups at these meets?

Yes, warm-ups begin an hour before the posted meet time and are open to anyone who can get there in time to warm up.
